At Porches Inn, hospitality and stewardship go hand in hand. We’re proud to deepen our commitment to the planet and our community through ongoing sustainability efforts.

From eliminating single-use plastics and installing refillable amenities to energy-efficient systems and EV charging stations, our practices are designed to reduce our footprint without compromising comfort. Every thoughtful touch reflects our belief that great hospitality should care for both people and the planet.

Through partnerships with organizations like Surfrider’s Ocean Friendly Hotels program and Hotel for Trees, we’re further aligning with our values around conservation and responsible tourism. Together, these efforts support coastal protection, global reforestation, and more sustainable travel.

Our current initiatives include:

• Hotels for Trees Partnership: Guests can opt out of housekeeping services, and in return, a tree is planted on their behalf supporting global reforestation efforts.
• Waste Bins & Recycling Bins: All indoor and outdoor bins include clearly separated recycling compartments.
• Eliminating Single-Use Plastics: No single use plastics property-wide and sustainable alternatives such as glass and aluminum for all guest-facing amenities, including minibars.
• Refillable Water Bottles: Each room is stocked with a stainless steel, double-wall vacuum-insulated water bottle for use during the duration of the stay. Bottles can be refilled throughout the visit, helping reduce single-use paper cups. All bottles are thoroughly washed and replaced after every guest to ensure cleanliness. Bottles are also available for purchase.
• Refillable Amenities: Large-format, refillable bath amenities to reduce waste without compromising on luxury.
• Compostable Cups & Lids: Only compostable cups and lids are provided for coffee and other beverages throughout the Inn.
• EV Charging Stations: Electric vehicle charging stations are available for guests, supporting greener travel choices.
• Bottleless Water Coolers: Guests can enjoy lemon-infused water in the lobby and refill their bottles at filtered water stations throughout the property.
• Reusable Utensils: provided to guests to minimize single-use waste.
