One of the best things to do in the Berkshires is attend a live music concert. Some of the best music venues, bands, studios, and performance centers in the country exist here in our little corner of the world, drawing musicians of all genres for concerts to excite fans of all ages. Home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, this prestigious performance venue draws in a diverse range of musicians, from classic to eclectic. For example, James Taylor and his All-Star Band will perform two concerts here on July 3rd and July 4th, 2023 to officially kick off Tanglewood’s summer season for the year. And there will be fireworks after the July 4th concert!
A few days later at Tanglewood, the Boston Pops Orchestra will perform Ragtime: The Symphonic Concert. This symphony comes from the 1975 novel by E.L. Doctorow, weaving together the stories of Eastern European immigrants, the Harlem African American community, and an upper-class white family. It’s going to be one of the best summer concerts in the Berkshires this year.
Later in the summer, multi-Grammy Award-winning, diamond-selling band Train will play at Tanglewood with special guest Parmalee. The group has had 14 songs on Billboard’s Hot 100 and has sold over 30 million tracks worldwide. Hearing them in a setting as special as Tanglewood is an experience you will never forget.
One of the largest contemporary art museums in the world sits nestled in the Berkshire town of North Adams but is also a fantastic music venue that brings in the uprising, cutting-edge artists with unique performances that can change your life. A comedian, director, producer, writer, and actress, she will give you a night of raunchy, witty humor and music that will have you rolling on the floor laughing.
At the end of the summer comes one of the best concerts in the Berkshires for 2023. The alt-rocker band called Pixies and the garage-rocker band called Modest Mouse are teaming up for an epic sundown show. This one-of-a-kind collaboration will be one for the history books. Plus, they have a special guest and indie musician Cat Power joining the show!
This music venue used to be a glass-blowing studio, but now showcases some of the best theater, music, comedy, spoken word, and other performances in all of New England. This summer several amazing artists, such as Dayna Kurtz, will grace this stage.
